Looks from the Banana Republic "Mad Men"-Inspired Collection

For reasons far too numerous to name here, AMC’s Mad Men is one of our favorite shows. One of the things that draws us in (besides Don Draper), is the overall look of the show, including the wardrobe. It’s hard for a woman of any size to not look impeccable in wasp-waisted dresses, bracelet-length jackets and slimmer-than-slim pencil skirts. The buzz about Banana Republic’s collection inspired by the TV show has been lingering for months, but the line is finally set to hit stores on Thursday. The collection, designed by Banana Republic Creative Director Simon Kneen in collaboration with Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant consists of 65 pieces for both men and women. The prices range from $13 for a pocket square to a men’s suit jacket that retails for over $400. The launch will include a video on the website featuring Kneen speaking about the collection as well as a contest for a walk-on part on the show as well as a $1,000 shopping spree.

Yes. Covered-up, ladylike chic is never a bad thing!
