We admit that we have an acute, long-term love/hate relationship with high heels- we love how they make our legs look, hate how they can hobble us and render us helpless when we’ve kept them on a little too long. But we also just love looking at them, and there is a new book that we are dying to get our hands on- High Heels: Fashion, Femininity & Seduction is a soon-to-be-released book about the power that the high heel has over us all. Centered around provocative images of towering shoes, High Heels explores the undeniable fetish element of the high heel and their solid place in the history of fashion. The book features images by celebrated fashion photographers such as Guy Bourdin, Bettina Rheims and David LaChapelle, as well as an essay by Valerie Steele (one of our favorite fashion intellectuals) and interviews with Manolo Blahnik and Nicholas Kirkwood by Tim Blanks. High Heels: Fashion, Femininity & Seduction will be released September 30.
