Estee Lauder, Pure Color Five Color Eyeshadow Compact, $45, http://www.esteelauder.com

We are settling into the fact that the bronze beauty of the summer season has set along with the hazy, lazy summer sun. In its place is sophisticated, smoky shadows reminiscent of cool, brisk fall evenings. One of our favorite new fall palettes is Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Five Color Compact in Film Noir. First off, the exquisite gold packaging makes you want to keep this compact on your vanity for the pure luxury. The compact comes complete with five gorgeous shadows and two dual-sided applicators. The shadows are silky soft and glide on effortlessly.

When it comes to the shadows, this compact has is everything you would need to create a traditional smoky eye with a little drama thrown in for good measure. First, there is a creamy white shadow with a frosty finish which is ideal for your highlight shade. The next lightest shade is a stunning taupe shade with light shimmer that works well as a crease color or a blending shade. Next is the slate gray with glitter which is absolutely fabulous on its own or used as an accent color for a traditional smoky eye. The deep charcoal grey with glitter is a beautiful deep shade that adds drama and dimension in a sophisticated way. The final shadow is a beautiful true black with slight glitter that goes on matte with a hint of shimmer. I love the black shadow as it really intensifies one’s smoky eye or can be worn alone for a decadent look that works well with evening looks. We can’t get enough of this palette for its one stop approach to the smoky eye that reigns supreme this time of year!
