Chicago is a city that certainly isn’t lacking in boutiques. What is a bit less easy to find, however, are fashion retail spaces that have a specific point of view with regards to what’s stocked on the racks and the overall aesthetic of the store. Enter Sir and Madame, an effortlessly cool boutique in Chicago’s Ukrainian Village. Owned by husband-and-wife team Autumn and Brian Merritt, Sir and Madame stocks both sought-after labels like Cheap Monday and Marais Shoes as well as lesser-known international names like Creep, a Japanese menswear collection. Sir and Madame also produces their own eponymous house label of clothing, shoes and accessories that adeptly complements the other collections. Our current obsession are the Justine Ashbee for Osborn Design oxfords (see below). Visit their site at http://www.sirandmadame.com to check out their cool blog as well as shop online.
