End Online Piracy, NOT Free Speech.

18 Jan

The best thing about the internet is the fact that it serves as a place where ideas, images and opinion can flow freely. But at this moment, the United States Congress is considering legislation that could deeply curtail that free exchange  under the guise of stopping online piracy.  Of course, we support efforts to stop those who seek to profit from other people’s creativity, but the far-reaching consequences of the S.O.P.A. (Stop Online Piracy Act) bill could result in the censorship of words and images that are posted online. That, we do not support. So The Black Market is going quiet for 24 hours in protest of this potentially dangerous legislation. Learn more about S.O.P.A here.
