Wow, we can’t even get our heads around the fact that mega-luxury brand Louis Vuitton hasn’t launched a fragrance in over 30 years! So now that we’ve gotten over that shock, it’s time to delve into the details. Louis Vuitton is working with Jacques Cavalier-Belletrud, a master within the fragrance industry with such accomplishments as developing Jean Paul Gaultier Classic, Stella by Stella McCartney and Dior Addict. What makes this fragrance debut even more delicious is the fact that Marc Jacobs is the creative force behind Louis Vuitton and a master at launching fragrances for his own label (Daisy, Lola and Bang- hello!). With that said, we can only anticipate what this new launch will smell and look like. All we know for certain is that it will be truly luxe!
We know, we know- one of the last labels that needs any more press is Louis Vuitton. But we will be forever interested in listening to designers and Creative Directors articulate their visions for their labels and more specifically, for the woman who wears their clothes (or carries their bags) in real life. We are always a bit taken aback when we hear designers struggle to define their aesthetic, aren’t you? In the clip above, Marc Jacobs speaks (rather eloquently, we think) about who the Louis Vuitton woman is. Jacobs is, of course, about as bright a star as there is in the fashion firmament, and this is an interesting glimpse into his creative process.
When two iconic brands partner up to create a limited-edition product, the world becomes a more joyous place to live in! Marc Jacobs recently teamed up with Francois Nars to create a one-of-a-kind fashion/beauty collaboration that we can’t wait to get our hands on (pardon the pun). The collabo features a fingerless cashmere glove which is paired with a limited-edition NARS nail polish in a corresponding shade. There are two glove/polish combos to choose from. The eggplant glove with lavendar polish (seen above) and a black cashmere glove with a black and a gold polish. Did someone say holiday chic? We are so in love with this concept that we would rock this collabo all winter long!
Marc Jacobs is a fashion genius. Everything he designs turns into gold! His latest collaboration is sure to be yet another feather in the designer’s well-crafted cap. He has teamed up with Minx Nails to create one-of-a-kind nails patterns. Minx Nails is the original creator of the metallic and patterned designs seen on the fingers and toes of many models and celebs. Check out the gorgeous patterns created by Marc Jacobs. Can we say that we’re crazy about the jaguar pattern? We predict they will be popping up on red carpets and runways for some time to come!
While we were never ones to carry around copies of the “Preppy Handbook”, we are totally on board with new ways to make the buttoned-up look sexy. Enter the high heeled loafer. The push-pull of the seriousness of the tassel and high wattage vibe of a sky-high heel makes this shoe absolutely irresistible. This gleaming Alexander Wang version looks like something that Cinderella would have left behind at the stroke of midnight, but we seriously doubt that she would have let this shoe leave her foot. We found a few others that have made our wish list, as well.
The popularity of Marc Jacob’s Lola fragrance gave the designer and creator ample reason to create a sister fragrance Oh Lola! which will debut later this summer. Lola is a warm, floral perfume with flirty notes that work well for day or night. With pink peppercorn, pear and ruby red grapefruit, this bright perfume made a splash when it debuted in the spring. Fast on its heels is Oh Lola! a fresh, youthful fragrance that works well for summer due to its light, airy appeal.
